Dante Alighieri Society (Cairns) Inc is part of a worldwide organisation that promotes Italian language and culture. We are a non-for-profit organisation, thus we rely on membership and volunteers to achieve our goals within the FNQ community. Dante Cairns was established in 1985 by a group of local Italo-Australians who wanted to bring people together to share and appreciate the rich tapestry of Italian culture and language. This is still our intention today, to encourage Italians and non-Italians to be part of global and local gatherings and enjoy being immersed in Italian culture. Dante Cairns is lucky to still have our foundational members today.
